1、 The function of the oil filter element
The oil filter element is also called oil filter, which is used to filter metal debris, combustion residues, such as soot, aarde (which may enter the hydraulic system with friction) or solid particles formed in the oil due to aging, reduce the wear of parts, keep the oil clean, and extend the service life of the engine.
2、 Classification of oil filter elements
There are two types of existing engine oil filter elements based on their appearance.
1. Oil filter element with iron shell
This filter element includes: upper and lower covers, bypass valves, check valves, paper filter elements, central filter screens, sealing rings, enz.
When replacing this filter element, simply unscrew it to the appropriate torque and replace it with a new one, without the need for an additional oil filter element housing.
2. Paper engine oil filter element
This paper filter element consists of: filter papier, plastic upper and lower covers (some of which are available), sealing glue, loop lines, enz
This type of filter requires a dedicated filter holder for placement
In feite, the functions of the two types of filter elements are basically the same, both of which are paper filters. As long as the filtering effect of the filter paper and the overall compressive effect are ensured, it can be said that a qualified oil filter element is used. Depending on the vehicle model and series, these two types of filter elements are used in the market.
3、 Replacement cycle
It is recommended to replace the oil filter element together with the engine oil every time. The replacement cycle may vary depending on the vehicle model. You can refer to the vehicle’s user manual for daily maintenance. It is recommended not to exceed 10% of the specified replacement mileage
4、 Reference conditions
When selecting an oil filter element, in addition to the necessary vehicle model matching, the following aspects should also be considered (because the main filtering function of the shell filter element also comes from the filter paper, the paper filter element is used as a reference premise for all of the following).
1. The filtering effect of fiber filter paper is good, which can filter very small particles

5、 Risk of not replacing on time
1. Reduced oil filtration performance
2. The oil pressure through the filter element will be greatly reduced
3. The filter bypass valve will open, and unfiltered oil will enter the oil circuit through the bypass valve. Polluted particles and impurities will enter the engine lubrication oil circuit, accelerating and increasing engine wear, causing unnecessary maintenance costs
