When maintaining a car, it’s not just about changing the oil. If you only change the oil and don’t pay attention to these five things, it may be a waste of maintenance.
1、 Oil filter element
The oil filter, referred to as machine filter, is mainly used to filter the impurities in the engine oil, ensure that each component is free of impurities when using the engine oil, and protect the normal operation of each component and the engine. It is also very important to change the machine filter. If only the engine oil is changed, but not the machine filter, it is basically equivalent to not changing the engine oil. The impurities in the engine still exist. All the machine filters should be replaced while changing the engine oil, Ensure a clean operating environment for the engine and improve its lifespan.
2、 Air filter and air conditioning filter
Air filter, abbreviated as air filter, is mainly used to ensure that the air sucked in is free of impurities during engine operation. If the air sucked in is dirty and unfiltered, impurities entering the engine will accelerate the wear of the piston group and cylinder. If larger particles enter between the piston and cylinder, it can also cause serious “cylinder pulling” phenomenon. Therefore, timely replacement of a new air filter to ensure intake quality can improve the engine’s lifespan.
3、 Fuel filter
The main function of the fuel filter is to provide clean fuel for the engine, filter out the moisture and impurities in the gasoline, so as to ensure the quality of gasoline entering the engine, optimize the combustion efficiency and performance, and also provide protection for the engine, indirectly improving the engine life. Here, it is recommended that all car enthusiasts replace the gasoline filter and air conditioning filter once a year.
4、 Spark plug
As for spark plugs, most of the engines on the current market are four cylinder engines, and the replacement frequency mainly depends on the material of the spark plugs: nickel copper alloy spark plugs have a lifespan of approximately 30000 to 40000 kilometers, single platinum spark plugs have a lifespan of 50000 to 60000 kilometers, double platinum spark plugs have a lifespan of 70000 to 80000 kilometers, single iridium spark plugs have a lifespan of 60000 to 70000 kilometers, and iridium platinum spark plugs have a lifespan of 80000 to 100000 kilometers The lifespan of the dual iridium spark plug is 10-12w kilometers. If you feel that the running status of the car engine is not very stable, you can also check the spark plug and replace it as necessary. If a broken spark plug is not replaced in a timely manner, it will have an impact on the engine’s lifespan.
5、 Brake fluid
As an important component of the brake system, the principle for replacing brake oil is mainly to check whether its water content exceeds the standard. If the water content exceeds the standard, the boiling point of the brake oil will decrease. Under continuous braking conditions, the water will boil first, leading to poor or ineffective braking performance. Therefore, the standard for replacing brake oil is to check the water content in the oil. If it exceeds 3%, it is recommended to replace it.
